OK, time for a not so shocking revelation: I love music! Ha! I have always loved music and the way it makes me feel. It moves with me, whatever mood I’m in, whatever I feel needs to be expressed. And I know I’m not alone in that either. Music is one of our oldest languages and forms of communication, spanning across cultures and continents.
Speaking of old languages, astrology is one of the oldest languages as well. I recently heard that in order to be considered a language, a tool / format has to have three things:
It has to be descriptive
It has to be instructive
It has to be celebratory and devotional
I would argue both music and astrology fit those rules!
Combining both of these languages makes sense to me because it is combining different core areas of our brain to talk to each other. It is always difficult to connect our emotional / feeling self with our analytical and logical self. This is common knowledge, with our brains being divided between left and right.
While music relates to our feelings and emotions, the astrology and learning what each planet, sign and house relates to can appeal more to the logical side. When we combine these two languages, it opens a new portal for us to combine how we feel and give it a name, give it an easy way to describe to other people.
Each planet in the sky, and thus each star and constellation (aka sign) make a particular tone. Now of course we can’t hear the sounds in space but if we could, these are the tones that each would make. Based on this knowledge, we can literally “hear” what our birth charts sound like, and in doing so, in a sense “hear” our personalities. Cool right?
To that end, I’ve started doing chart readings for people that combines these languages for their unique aspects and gives them deeper information. Their astrological charts surrounded by musical cues can become touch stones they can come back to whenever necessary to tap into their emotions as well as logic.
I wanted to share a bit of this with you today, so you can hear the music of one specific pairing. The thing with astrology is there are a plethora of pairings and possibilities. With twelve planets, twelve signs, and twelve houses, there are a multitude of different possibilities. I think that’s kind of cool and I hope you enjoy!
So, the particular track above is the combination of Pluto and Scorpio in the 2nd House.
Pluto holds the tone of Db, as does Scorpio which gives us an octave. Perfect resonance. Pluto is the planet of major transformation and the cycle of birth and death. Scorpio is the sign of intense emotions (and ruled by Pluto, which is why they have the same tone.) The 2nd House is the house that deals with wealth, financial life and concepts and beliefs around value and worth.
A Perfect Octave is a sound of pure resonance. It is the same note resonating upon itself over and over again. The house adds a Perfect 4th so these tones speak of swimming in good vibes here! I’m particularly impressed / surprised because Pluto and Scorpio are both difficult energies. They deal with the underworld, the harsh truth of death and uncovering what we as humans try to avoid. This tells me that if this were in an actual chart, that person is likely not afraid of major transformations. They may feel a sense of great balance in who they are and what they have to offer. These energies being so calm and open here could mean they don’t struggle with some of the bigger issues that some face. They would be easy going and very accepting with what is - and accepting with what will be.
How did you find that? Did listening to the track make you feel a certain way? How did it feel after you read the description of the track? Did it give more meaning to what you were hearing?
Curious about another combination? Want to hear what another pairing sounds like? Leave a comment of your choices below, and let’s play / discover together :)
Yes, Jess! I love to hear and read what you’ve been working on for so long. This is exciting, and those tones are gorgeous! Can’t wait to hear more (and of course I selfishly wonder what the Sun in Libra in the 4th house sounds like 🤔). ❤️✨🌌🪐
Listening to the track now. It soothes me. Thank you!
